On 1st April 2003, Health Authorities in Wales were abolished and replaced by 22 Local Health Boards.

Provision of health services for the area which was formerly the responsibility of North Wales Health Authority passed to the following successor bodies as of 1st April, 2003:-

Anglesey LHB, Conwy LHB, Denbighshire LHB, Flintshire LHB, Gwynedd LHB & Wrexham LHB.
